About Us.
Supporting Dignity & Voice

The Blue Mountains Aged Care Committee exists to support the dignity, wellbeing, and voice of older people across our region. We bring together community members, care professionals, advocates, and local stakeholders who share a commitment to ensuring aged care services remain compassionate, accountable, and responsive to changing needs.

Our region is unique. The Blue Mountains is defined by strong community ties, geographic diversity, and an ageing population that deserves care close to home, grounded in respect and local understanding. We work to ensure older residents are not just recipients of care, but active participants in decisions that affect their lives.

Collaborative Advocacy

The Committee provides a collaborative forum to identify priorities, share knowledge, and advocate for quality aged care services. This includes supporting best-practice care standards, encouraging clear communication between providers and families, and promoting policies that place people before process. We value transparency, ethical leadership, and evidence-based decision-making.

Together Is What Counts.

We also recognise that ageing affects families and carers, not just individuals. By fostering connection and information-sharing, we aim to reduce isolation, strengthen community confidence, and support informed choices around care, housing, and health services.

Guided by Community

Our work is guided by respect for lived experience, cultural sensitivity, and the belief that ageing should be accompanied by safety, purpose, and belonging. Through partnership with local organisations and ongoing community engagement, we strive to shape an aged care system that reflects the values of the Blue Mountains: care, resilience, and collective responsibility.
