MEMORIES. UNITY.

Strong aged care systems are built with communities, not for them. Community engagement is central to the work of the Blue Mountains Aged Care Committee.

COMMUNITY

Mobilization

JOY. FRIENDSHIPS.

We create opportunities for older people, carers, families, and professionals to share experiences, raise concerns, and contribute ideas. This includes community meetings, forums, consultations, and partnerships with local organisations.

LISTEN & SHARE.

Listening is as important as speaking. We value lived experience and recognise that those who use aged care services are best placed to identify what works, what does not, and what needs to change. Community feedback helps shape our priorities and advocacy efforts.

COMMUNITY CONNECTION

Engagement also strengthens trust and connection. By fostering open dialogue, we help reduce isolation, improve understanding of aged care issues, and encourage collective problem-solving.

Our aim is a responsive, informed, and connected community where ageing is supported through shared responsibility and mutual respect.
