MISSION

WHAT WE DO
The Blue Mountains Aged Care Committee provides leadership, advocacy, and coordination to support high-quality aged care services across the region. We act as a bridge between older residents, carers, service providers, and decision-makers, ensuring community voices inform planning and delivery.
COMMUNITY LED AGED CARE

SUPPORT
We support preventative and community-based approaches to ageing, recognising that wellbeing is influenced by housing, transport, social connection, and access to health services.
Where possible, we promote models of care that allow people to age safely and confidently in their own homes and communities.

Our role is not to duplicate services, but to strengthen the system as a whole through advocacy, insight, and collective responsibility.
STRENGTH IN HARMONY

FOCUS AND CARE.
Our work includes identifying local aged care priorities, monitoring service availability and quality, and advocating for improvements where gaps or risks are identified.

We contribute to consultations, provide feedback on policy and service changes, and support initiatives that strengthen care standards and workforce capability.

The Committee also facilitates information-sharing between stakeholders. By creating opportunities for dialogue, we help improve understanding, reduce fragmentation, and encourage cooperation across health, aged care, and community services.
